"I went to Melissa Duarte seeking a professional quote and left with a very different impression of what a client should expect from a business professional.
From the beginning, her attitude was dismissive and condescending. I was made to feel as though my time, my questions, and my family’s business were somehow beneath her. Respect and professionalism should be the bare minimum when dealing with potential clients, and unfortunately, neither was demonstrated during my interaction with her.
What made the situation even more inappropriate was what happened afterward. Melissa contacted my husband under the guise of “following up with us,” but the communication quickly appeared to have little to do with the business we had discussed. The messages were not professional, did not address the quote, and did not contain anything remotely necessary for a work-related follow-up. Based on the nature and tone of the messages, it came across as an attempt to engage with my husband personally rather than professionally.
There is a significant difference between following up with a potential client and crossing professional boundaries. If you are considering doing business with Melissa, I would strongly recommend paying attention not only to how she treats you as a client, but also to how she conducts herself once the business conversation is over.
And, frankly, if you’re married, I’d think twice before bringing your husband around her."
